St. Mary Employee Suspected Of Stealing Drugs |

A former Providence St. Mary Medical Center Pharmacy Technician is charged with stealing prescription drugs from their pharmacy. 28-year-old Joshua Wagoner faces a second degree theft charge for possessing liquid hydrocodone with the intent to deliver and with possessing three hydrocodone pills. Police believe Waggoner stole 10 bottles of the liquid medication over about a two week period and intended to sell them. The thefts were recorded on camera. Waggoner was arrested but released on his own recognizance. Hospital officials say he has been fired pending the out come of the criminal case. |

Hundreds of workers at an Arlington boatbuilding plant are out of work after the company announced they’re shutting down the plant. The Arlington closure is just one of four for the Brunswick Corporation. The plant builds Meridian yachts, along with other operations. A plant in Roseburg, Ore., also will be permanently closed. |

State's Unemployment Fund Remains Stron |

Many states say their unemployment numbers are climbing so high—they’re running out of funds for unemployment benefits. But the state’s employment security department says it’s a different story here in Washington. Although the state’s unemployment rate has climbed nearly one point five percent—but Washington remains strong—and has one of the largest trust funds in the nation at 4.1 billion dollars. A spokesperson for the department says the state’s in pretty good shape compared to states like California, Michigan and New York. In Washington—thousands of people collect unemployment and receive a check for about 350 dollars. They add if the country were to fall into a severe recession—21 months of benefits would be available to those people. |

Signs Installed To Protect Wolves |

Signs are being place in the Methow Valley warning hunters not to shoot federally protected wolves. The signs show the differences between gray wolves and coyotes - most notably the size. Coyotes can be hunted all year, but the wolves are listed as an endangered species in Washington and cannot. Biologists say at least one wolf pack is living in north-central Washington and others live in Pend Oreille County. |

Tribe Upset With Political Ad |

The Spokane Indian Tribe is upset with a political ad that suggests the tribe and the state struck an improper deal to expand casino gambling. The tribe says the commercials that were made by supporters of Republican gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi are misleading and racially charged. The topic came up in a debate in Spokane. Rossi says Gregoire made a mistake by negotiating a gambling contract with the Spokane Tribe that turned down an offer of revenue for the state. |
